As the chill of Autumn has arrived we welcome you into the warm atmosphere and good food which the Cross Street Café provides. Try one of our warming soups with a roll and butter or one of our delicious jacket potatoes with a choice of filling. If a cup of coffee or tea with cake or a scone is your preference then select from our homemade range on display in the cabinet. Toast or tea cakes also go down well at this time of year as do our choice of toasties. All of these served by one of our cheerful friendly staff. Come in and meet Cheryl our new Team leader who started with us in September or remake the acquaintance of Caroline, Kay or Sue. They will all be delighted to see you. If you have never visited us during the week but only use Cross Street on Sundays after the service then do give us a try at other times. We are open Mon-Sat 10 00 am to 2 00 pm. It is a good place to meet a friend, have a chat or even introduce them to our church! If you are alone and need conversation then one of our Welcomers will be pleased to chat to you. If peace and quiet is what you need then we have often been described as a haven from the hustle and bustle of the town especially as Christmas and all the shopping frenzy approaches. Keep up with latest Baptist news by reading this week’s ‘Baptist Times’ or browse through one of the magazines, all available on the tables in the soft seating area. Browse the menu or catch up on church and mission news by reading the information in the table holders. Want to know what is going on locally both in churches and in St. Albans? Then try the notice boards and the carousel or ask at the desk, we will be delighted to help you. Best of all, once you have been you will want to return – and if you came alone, next time bring a friend. See you soon Julia Plant
